ROSTA-2 seedling planter

ROSTA-2 seedling planter is used for mechanical planting of cartridge seedlings in two rows. It is possible to compile several planters for multirow planting.

Structure:

The seedling planter consists of theframe of semirevolving hinge, the wheel drive gear with replaceable gears with different pitches, the front rolling compactors with a spring, the reducer with the chain drive and the transmission (matched by means of sliders for four valves in two plughshares) and the bevel drive (of 14 sleeves), four back rolling compactors, 2 seats for the planter men, 6 cartridge receivers.

Working and adjusting routine:

When the traction device is moving, planter men take seedlings out of the cartridge and put them alternately into one of the 6 moving sleeves. After the sleeve gets to the planting area, its bottom is opened on demand, and the seedlings get into the clearance between the ploughshare's valves. These valves move the seedlings straight down to the end of the ploughshare and into the ground (preliminarily rolled by the front compactor). The back compactors roll the seedlings in the ground.

The tractor's speed (approx. 2.2 km/h) is determined by the planter man's efficiency, plant spacing, the ground's properties. These features may be adjusted: forces in the spring of the front compactors, the ploughshare's depth, forces of rolling and the distance between back compactors, distance between them and the ploughshare, concordance of the 4 valves, planting period (adjusted by means of changing gears).
